The son of the petitioner was electrocuted on 5.11.2018 and an information in this regard was lodged with the police station Awagarh on 21.11.2018.
The petitioner made an application to the District Magistrate seeking compensation for the death of his son but till date no action has been taken.
Section 161 of the Electricity Act, 2003 provides for consideration of such claim on an application by the concerned party to the District Magistrate.
In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, we dispose of this petition with the direction to the District Magistrate to consider the application of the petitioner dated 27.11.2018, filed as Annexure-3 to the writ petition, in accordance with law and to pass appropriate order expeditiously preferably within a period of six weeks.
The writ petition is disposed of.
