JUDGMENT / ORDER

THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE L. NARASIMHA REDDY CONTEMPT CASE No. 2264 OF 2013 Dated:01-08-2014
Between:
Y. Padmini Devi and another ... PETITIONERS AND Mr. I Srinivas Sree Naresh and two others .. RESPONDENTS THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE L. NARASIMHA REDDY CONTEMPT CASE No. 2264 OF 2013 ORDER:
The petitioners filed Writ Petition No. 26340 of 2012 feeling aggrieved by the inaction of the respondents in making corrections in the revenue records in relation to the land in Sy.Nos.804 and 805 of Tallampadu Village, Khammam Rural Mandal. The writ petition was disposed of on 24-08-2012 leaving it open to the petitioners to submit a representation to the respondents and the latter in turn were directed to take necessary steps. This contempt case is filed alleging that the respondents did not take any steps though a representation was made on 17-09-2012.
A detailed counter affidavit is filed by the respondents. It is stated that the matter was verified with reference to the records of the PWD and Revenue Departments and ultimately, the Tahsildar addressed a letter dated 03-02-2014 to the District Collector requesting that the records be rectified in respect of various lands including the land in Sy. No. 804. As regards the land in Sy.No. 805, he observed that no changes are required.
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for Revenue for the respondents.
The rectification of the entries in the revenue records naturally needs a comprehensive enquiry. The ground situation must be verified and the records must be examined. Ultimately, the Tahsildar addressed letter dated 03-02-2014 furnishing the particulars relating to the rectification of records. With that, the grievance of the petitioners’ substantial stands redressed. However, the District Collector, Khammam District, the 1st respondent herein is directed to take necessary steps on the letter dated 03-02-2014, within a period of two months from today.
The contempt case is accordingly disposed of. The miscellaneous petitions filed in this contempt case shall also stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
