JUDGMENT / ORDER

Mr.P.Naresh Babu, claiming to be a physically challenged person has come to this Court seeking writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider his representation, dated 29.09.2016 with regard to grant of license for running petti shop / bunk shop within a stipulated time.
2. Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Government Advocate takes notice for R1 and Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned standing counsel takes notice for R2.
3. The petitioner is a physically challenged and his both legs are completely impair with 75% disability and as a result, he is unable to walk without the assistance of sticks and the physical disability also has been evaluated as per the guidelines and the medical authority has also issued Disability Certificate assessing 75% disability. Further, he has passed X Standard from Government High School, Veppampattu, Thiruvallur District during March 2013. However, due to his family financial condition, he is unable to continue his higher studies. Hence, after registering his name in the Department of Employment and Training on 22.06.2010, finding no interview card, he has decided to have a bunk near I.C.F Bus stand for running a Tea and Tiffen shop. Therefore, he has applied to the District Collector, Chennai, the first respondent herein to grant permission to locate his bunk shop in the platform. He has also applied to the Commissioner, Corporation of Chennai, the second respondent herein on 29.09.2016, requesting to grant license to run Tea and Tiffen shop. But the said representation has not been considered. Therefore, he has been advised to come to this Court.

Considering the fact that the petitioner is a physically challenged person and having 75% disability on the basis of the Disability Certificate, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 29.09.2016 on merits sympathetically within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
