JUDGMENT / ORDER

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to grant the amount allocated to the Sri Paramakalyani for Environmental Sciences by the 3rd respondent towards construction of Women's Hostel, Staff Quarters / Men's Hostel and to provide the equipment grant of Rs.40 lakhs, Books and Journals for an amount of Rs.6 lakhs under Department Profile and Equipment grant of Rs.10 lakhs under central facility.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties, except R2.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner obtained certain information under RTI Act that University Grants Commission had allotted funds to each department based on the verification of achievements by the Committee and requirements submitted by each department, on the basis of which, the petitioner made an oral request to the 1st respondent for allotment of share due to his College from the funds allocated by the 3rd respondent. Pursuant to the inaction on the part of the 1st respondent, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 25.01.2011 in this regard and since there was no response on the said representation, the petitioner is before this Court seeking above direction.
4. The learned counsel appearing for R1 would submit that if a reasonable time is granted to the 1st respondent, the representation of the petitioner will be considered and suitable orders be passed thereon.

In view of the above submission, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the 1st respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 25.01.2011 and pass necessary orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, keeping in mind the allocation of funds by the 3rd respondent as well as the amount already granted to each department.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. .
