Dated this the 2nd day of April, 2018 J U D G ME N T Petitioners are residents of a housing colony named Vinayaka Vedhapuri Garden Villa Complex near Gandhi Square, Petta, Tripunithura. The construction was completed in the said complex in 3 phases. According to the petitioners, in phases 1 and 3, there is enough water supply. Petitioners who are residents of second phase are not getting water supply even though connection is provided consequent to the reduced pressure in the line given to the supply line of the petitioners. Having confronted with such a situation, petitioners have submitted Ext.P4 before the first respondent, which is pending consideration. Petitioners seek direction for early disposal of the same.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, there will be a direction to the first W.P.(C).No.6692 of 2018 : 2 : respondent to consider Ext.P4 in accordance with law and attain finality at the earliest possible time, at any rate, within three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. The learned Standing Counsel for the Water Authority pointed out that when connection was provided to other two phases, there was stiff opposition from the public and only after securing police protection, connections were obtained. It is made clear that if petitioners are able to succeed in Ext.P4, the Water Authority will be at liberty to seek necessary police protection from the respective police station.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
