JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed by the association of Tradesmen and certain traders. Grievance in the Writ Petition is that different organizations of political parties are holding public meetings at Tippu Sulthan Junction, National Highway at Mannarkkad Town. According to the petitioners, this will prevent vehicular traffic and disturbance to the customers coming to the 2nd and 3rd petitioners shop. Petitioners approached the authorities to take action against holding public meetings. However, it did not yield any positive result. Accordingly petitioners approached this Court.
2. No person has right to organize any public meeting in any place without permission from the authorities. If any person is holding any public meeting in front of the 2nd and 3rd petitioners shop or at junction referred in the Writ Petition, respondents 4 and 5 shall ensure that no such meeting shall be conducted without obtaining permission. If any such meeting is conducted, necessary action shall be taken to stop such meeting W.P(C).No.33721 of 2006M 2 and action shall be initiated against those persons who conduct those meetings. If permission is given, it must be ensured that no vehicular traffic is obstructed and also business of any trader at the junction.
The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
