JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioners have approached this Court with the following prayers :
(i) To declare that the petitioners are entitled to the revised scale of pay allowed to Mechanical Superintendents as per Exts. P3, P3 (a) and P3(b) and that too with effect from 01.03.1997;
(ii) To issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or other appropriate order or direction, directing respondents 1 and 2 to ensure that the petitioners are also given the revised scale of pay allowed to Mechanical Superintendents as per Ext. P3, P3(a) and P3(b);
(iii) To issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or other appropriate order or direction, directing the respondents to ensure that the revised scale of pay and consequential allowances are given to the petitioners without any further delay with effect from 01.03.1997;
(iv) To issue a writ in the nature of certiorari or other appropriate order or direction, quashing Ext. P8 return note dated 31-12-1999 rejecting Ext. P7 option statement submitted by the 1st petitioner for higher Grade viz. The revised scale of pay of Rs. 6935-11460.
W.P.(C) No. 30271 of 2003 : 2 :
(v). To issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or other appropriate order or direction, directing the respondents to ensure that the petitioners are given promptly the arrears of salary and other allowances on the basis of the revised scale of pay w.e.f 01.03.1997 as mentioned in Exts. P3, P3(a) and P3(b); and (vi) To grant such other reliefs as are just and proper in the nature of the case.
2. When the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners fairly concedes that the issue has been decided against the petitioners, by virtue of the verdict passed in W.A. No. 1466 of 2004 (preferred against Ext. P1 judgment).
3. In the said circumstances, the writ petition is dismissed in terms of the verdict passed by the Division Bench in W.A. No. 1466 of 2004.
