2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.
3. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 1 and 2 to take appropriate and necessary action by considering the petitioner's representations dated 30.12.2015, 22.09.2016 and 20.10.2016 within a reasonable time.
4. The petitioner is the District Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Salem-East District. He is a worshiper and regular visitor to two temples Sri Arulmighu Thaanthondreeshwarar Temple and Sri Ashtapunjabalamadhana Venugopala Swamy Temple in Belur Village, Salem District. It is alleged that there is maladministration in the said temples by the Executive Officer under the influence of certain persons. It is stated that various religious functions of the temple are not being conducted; Velipraharam Hall is not being constructed; unauthorized persons are allowed to conduct pooja; Chariot has been shifted to unsafe place; temple lands have been allotted to private parties for meager sums; and staff are appointed illegally. Complaining about the same, the petitioner made several representations (last representation dated 20.10.2016), but no action was taken by the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed for the relief stated supra.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we direct respondents 1 and 2 to examine the grievance of the petitioner as expressed in his representation dated 20.10.2016 and do the needful in accordance with law.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
