JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner approached this Court aggrieved by Ext.P6 order passed by the first respondent - Appellate Authority under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens Act, 2007. As per the said order, the petitioner has been directed to pay `2,000/- as maintenance to her mother. While passing Ext.P6 order, the authorities have taken into consideration the petitioner's salary. This Court, invoking power under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is not expected to act as the appellate authority of the authorities, who passed the impugned order. This Court is only concerned about the decision taking process, which rendered the order. The authorities have adverted to various factors while passing the order. The petitioner is unable to point out any other procedural illegality in the W.P.(C). No.14704 of 2011 -: 2 :-
decision taken by the authority. If the petitioner is aggrieved by the order passed by the appellate authority, it is open for her to approach the Tribunal to vary the quantum of maintenance ordered, by placing additional evidence. Considering the nature of the order passed, I do not find any reason to interfere with the impugned order. However, it is made clear that if any circumstances warranted, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Tribunal to vary the quantum of maintenance ordered in the impugned order.
The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
