JUDGMENT / ORDER

The prayer in the Writ Petition, is for issuance of a Writ, in the nature of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 26.10.2016, made for grant of appointment to her son, on compassionate ground.
2. The petitioner would state that her husband, late Mr.Vijayakumar was working as Office Assistant Grade II, in the respondent-Management, and he died in harness on 02.08.2010, leaving behind his widow (petitioner) and three children as legal heirs. The petitioner would further state that, on account of sudden demise of her husband, her family was in lurch. Therefore, petitioner submitted a representation, setting out her family grievance, and sought for compassionate ground appointment for her son, by name Murugan, who has completed B.Com course in the University of Madras, in the year 2010.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that, grievance of the petitioner is that, though her husband died in the year 2010, and despite representations being made incessantly from 2010 onwards, her request has not been considered as on date, which constrained her to file this Writ Petition.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner has also drawn this Court's attention to the documents filed in the typed-set of papers filed in support of this Writ Petition for reference, and would submit, on perusal of those documents, it could be seen that the petitioner has been submitting representations repeatedly, seeking compassionate ground appointment for her son. The learned counsel would further submit that, in fact, one such representation has been considered by the District Collector, and the District Collector has also forwarded the same to the Managing Director TIC, for taking further steps. Despite the same, no steps have been taken for grant of appointment to the petitioner's son. Hence, the learned counsel prays for appropriate order/direction.

The learned counsel for the respondents would submit that, if the petitioner's son is found eligible to be appointed on compassionate grounds, the representation/application submitted in this regard will be considered by the respondents, and appropriate orders will be passed, and prayed that some reasonable time may be granted for passing orders.
6. In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner, in the recent past, viz., the representation dated 26.10.2016, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.
7. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
