Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and Shri Vivek Varma, learned counsel appearing for respondents no. 2 & 3.
It is the case of the petitioners that a selection was held by the respondents no. 2 & 3 for promotion of Class IV employees to Class III posts in the year 2016 and a select list was declared on 13.10.2016 in which 59 candidates were shown as selected. There are still 69 posts vacant for promotion but only few of the selected candidates have been considered for promotion and the rest have been left. They have already made a representation on 02.08.2018 to the Nagar Ayukt, Nagar Nigam, Varanasi.
This writ petition is disposed of, without entering into the merits of the controversy, with a direction to the respondent no. 2 (Nagar Ayukt, Nagar Nigam, Varanasi) to look into the grievance of the petitioners as raised in their representations dated 02.08.2018 and passed an appropriate reasoned and speaking order strictly in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before him.
