Petitioner is the sole respondent in MC No. 57/2012 filed under Section 12 (1) of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act in the court of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Chengannur. The second respondent in this O.P. is the petitioner in the MC.

The only prayer in the O.P. is to issue a direction to the learned Magistrate not to adjourn the case when it is taken up on 02.08.2014, but to proceed with the enquiry and dipose it of expeditiously. Petitioner in this O.P. is the sister-in-law of the second respondent. She is 67 years old. The petition under Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act filed in 2012. So far, it has not been disposed of. Now it stands posted to 02.08.2014 for enquiry. The only request of the petitioner is to issue a direction to the learned Magistrate to proceed with the enquiry without granting any more adjournments. I am satisfied O.P.(Crl)No. 111 /2014 2 that the request is reasonable.
In the result, the learned Magistrate is directed to dispose of MC No. 57/2012 atleast within six months.
