JUDGMENT / ORDER

Notice to respondents 4 and 5 dispensed with preserving their right to seek rehearing of the writ petition if they are aggrieved by the directions being issued hereby.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader on behalf of respondents 1 to
3. The petitioner says that there are certain disputes in relation to money transaction between him and respondents 4 and 5. Those are matters which have to be worked out through appropriate jurisdiction. If any offence is made out either by respondents 4 and 5 or by the petitioner and those offences are cognizable, the police is directed to act in accordance with law. Subject to that, all that is required is that police is to ensure that law and order is maintained, and W. P. (C) No.25775 of 2014 -2-
any threat of commission or any attempt to commit any cognizable offence is appropriately dealt with as and when reported. Any commission of cognizable offence, if reported, will also be appropriately registered and investigated. If the jurisdictional Superintendent of Police is satisfied that grounds exist to extend protection to the life of the petitioner, that shall be done on appropriate application on usual terms.
Writ petition is ordered accordingly.
