1. Called in revise. None appeared on behalf of petitioners.
2. By means of the present writ petition, petitioners have sought the following reliefs:
“(a) issue a writ order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned process of recruitment to Group C employees in Collectorate, Mau in pursuance of publication of vacancies in Dainik Jagran dt. 30.8.2001 (Vide Aannexure No. 21) for which test in scheduled to be held on 7.10.2001.
(b) issue a writ, order of direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents first to reserve and fill-up 20% of the vacancies in lowest grade clerk, Group C posts, existing in collectorate, Mau, by way of promotion from amongst the class IV employees in collectorate, Mau the petitioners, and thereafter initiate the process of recruitment on the remaining vacancies or initiate the process of recruitment after reserving two posts for the petitioners.”
3. However, I have gone through the pleadings, grounds as also reliefs sought and find that petitioners are not able to make out a case so as to justify interference of this Court by granting reliefs, as prayed for.
4. Moreover, it appears that either the cause of action no more survives or that petitioners have lost interest in this matter or it has otherwise become infructuous and, probably for this reason, none is interested to have decided this matter on merits and that is why, counsel for petitioners is absent.
5. Dismissed. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
