JUDGMENT / ORDER

PRAYER in W.P(MD)No.21283 of 2017: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to provide crop insurance to the petitioner in respect of the lands in S.Nos. 192/14A, 185/4, 204/8, 177/10a, 199/3, 199/15B, 184/13A, 182/2, 235/8, 237/3B, 178/3B, 182/8B, 195/16, 195/6 to an extent of 2.98.00 hectares situated at Irumathi village, Sakkanthi Group and S.Nos. 187/3, 230/2, 183/9, 186/6 an extent about 0.6.00 hectare situated at Irumathi Village, Panangulam group, Devakottai Taluk, Sivagangai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2017 within the time period stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

PRAYER in W.P(MD)No.21286 of 2017: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to provide crop insurance to the petitioner in Survey Nos. 53/2, 46/10, 47/12B2, 25/3B, 30/4B, 22/9G, 10/7A11, 10/7B, 18/5A1, 30/15B, 30/18, 2/6A, 29/7B, 30/17, 47/12B3, 267/61, 567/6M, 58/9 to an extent of 1.22.30 hectares situated at Silameganadu village, Sakkanthi Group and S.Nos. 24/13B, 24/8 situated at Silameganadu Village, Panangulam Group, Devakottai Taluk, Sivagangai District.
PRAYER in W.P(MD)No.21287 of 2017: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents provide crop insurance to the petitioner in Survey Nos.163/2, 163/1, 120/4, 121/4D, 159/1A, 159/1B, 159/9A, 159/9B, 163/3, 163/4, 125/4A2, 125/8A, 133/4B, 121/4B2 to an extent of 18 acre at Pagayani-Piranthani group and in Sruvey Nos.337/2A2, 337/2B, 338/6A, 338/6D, 345/4B, 345/44C, 337/3A, 334/4, 335/10, 335/2, 335/8, 340/3, 343/1, 343/3A, 344/3C, 342 to an extent of 23.50 acre at Thidakottai group situated at Devakottai Taluk, Sivagangai District.
As the issue involved in all these writ petitions is similar in nature, they are disposed of by this common order.
2. By consent, these writ petitions are taken up for final disposal, at the stage of admission.
3. Mr.M.Alagathevan, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents in all the cases. Notice to the third respondent in dispensed with, as no adverse order is going to be passed.
4. The petitioners, who are involved in agricultural activities are before this Court and according to them, they had enrolled themselves with one of the crop insurance schemes under the Government of Tamil Nadu and they are regularly paying the premium, without any default. Due to failure of rainfall, they were not able to carry out their works and the Government has also directed to provide compensation to the eligible policy holders. It is the case of the petitioners that though they are eligible to receive the said compensation, their names were not included in the list of beneficiaries and aggrieved over the same, they, individually, preferred a representation dated 29.08.2017 before the respondents and as the same are kept pending, without any action, the present petitions came to be filed.
5. Though the prayer in these writ petitions are for a larger relief, the learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that it would be suffice, if the petitioners' representation are disposed of, by the authorities, as per law, within a stipulated time limit.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the cases and also limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim, directs the respondents 1 & 2 to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 29.08.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merit and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioners as well as all the other interested parties, if any, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. These writ petitions are disposed of as above. No costs.
