JUDGMENT / ORDER

The prayer in the writ petition is to issue an appropriate order, directions or writ including a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's case (Roll No.12PG10290604) for appointment to the post of Post Graduate Assistant (Economics) under the Tamil Medium Quota for the year 2011-2012 and grant his all consequential benefits.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was fully qualified for appointment to the post of Post Graduate Assistant (Economics) and the Teachers Recruitment Board conducted direct recruitment for the post of Post Graduate Assistants for the year 2011-2012. In written examination, the petitioner secured 67 marks and certificate verification was done in October 2012 and he was not called for the certificate verification. The petitioner came to know through newspapers that no Tamil medium candidate was available for appointment to the post of PG Assistant (Economics) under the Tamil medium quota and hence no one was appointed. Therefore, he has filed this writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for the respondents has stated that the petitioner secured 67 marks in Economics in the written examination. The petitioner studied Post Graduation Course and B.Ed., course through Tamil Medium. Hence he was considered, as candidates studied in Tamil Medium quota (PSTM) as per G.O.Ms.No.145, Personal and Administrative Reforms (S) Department, dated 30.09.2010 and the Government letter No.99/S/2011-1 dated 11.01.2011. However, the petitioner belongs to BC community. The last candidate called for certificate verification under BC(G) (T) is 85 and BC (W) (T) is 87 for the post Graduate Assistant (Economics). Since the petitioner did not secure eligible cut off marks in the PSTM quota, he was not called for certificate verification. Further the Board finalised the selection process of Post Graduate Assistants for the year 2011-2012 on 18.01.2013 itself and all the vacancies notified have been filled up. Further the Board also finalised the selection process for the years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 recruitment.
4. Therefore at this stage the claim of the petitioner cannot be considered. Hence this writ petition is dismissed. Connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed. No costs.
