The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation and file a final report in Crime No. 533 of 2015, pending on his file.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that he has lodged a complaint before the respondent stating that on 23.09.2015 at about 2.30 p.m. when his parents were proceeding to R.T.O. office at Ranipet in a Two Wheeler bearing registration No.TN-21-L-1693, they met with an accident due to rash and negligent driving of the driver of a Maruthi Suzuki Alto Car bearing registration No.TN-51-E-1543 at SSS College, Arcot. As a result, the parents of the petitioner sustained grievous injuries. The said complaint was registered as FIR in Crime No.533 of 2015, for the offences under Sections 279 and 337 IPC against the driver of the car. Thereafter, no progress was made in the said case. Hence this petition.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent, submitted that investigation has already been completed and the charge sheet is also made ready. However, the same could not be filed for want of discharge summary of the victims.
4. In view of the submission so made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court directs the petitioner to submit the discharge summary of the victims to the respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. On such submission, the respondent is directed to file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks thereafter. The Criminal Original Petition is ordered accordingly.
