JUDGMENT / ORDER

IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT HYDERABAD FOR THE STATE OF TELANGANA & THE STATE OF ANDHRA PRADESH FRIDAY, THE TWENTY FOURTH DAY OF OCTOBER TWO THOUSAND AND FOURTEEN PRESENT THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE VILAS V. AFZULPURKAR CONTEMPT CASE No.1659 of 2014 BETWEEN Mr. U. Jaya Reddy.
... PETITIONER AND B.R. Meena and two others.
...RESPONDENTS Counsel for the Petitioner: MR. BABUJI TENNETI Counsel for the Respondents: GP FOR REVENUE (TG) The Court made the following:
ORDER:
In WP.No.10168 of 2014, petitioner’s grievance was non-consideration of his representation for grant of interest over the advance payment towards conversion of agricultural land into non-agricultural purpose. Though the petitioner was refunded the amount deposited, seeking interest for the period during which the amount remained with the Government, petitioner filed a representation before the Collector for grant of interest. The writ petition was disposed of on 03.04.2014 directing the Collector to pass appropriate orders on petitioner’s representation. The present contempt case is filed alleging that no action is taken by the Collector.
2. Learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has placed before the Court a copy of the order passed by the Special Deputy Collector/Revenue Divisional Officer dated 05.08.2014, on the directions of the Collector dated 01.08.2014, wherein the petitioner’s request was rejected under proceedings No.L/4638/2008 dated 05.08.2014 on the ground that there is no such provision for payment of interest. A copy of the said order is served on the learned counsel for the petitioner today.
3. In view of the order, having already been passed, in compliance of the directions of this Court in WP.No.10168 of 2014, nothing further survives for consideration in the contempt case.
The contempt case is dismissed. Petitioner, however, is at liberty to question the said order, in accordance with law, if he is so aggrieved. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
