JUDGMENT / ORDER

Ramachandra Menon, J.
Petitioner is a member of the first respondent Co- operative Society and is a contesting candidate to the election to the Board of Directors scheduled to be held on 29.6.2014. Apprehending untoward incidents at the instance of miscreants, petitioner is before this Court seeking necessary protection.
2. Learned Government Pleader submits on instructions that the apprehension expressed by the petitioner has been considered in the right spirit and perspective and in view of the antecedents, particularly with regard to the attempts made to intercept the conduct of election, the police, on receipt of the complaint from the petitioner and also petition filed by the Returning Officer, has taken necessary WP(C).15799/14 2 measures to see that the election is conducted in smooth and peaceful manner. The learned Government Pleader also points out that the scene is thoroughly scrutinised and a team headed by the Circle Inspector of Police with Sub Inspector and as many as 28 Civil Police Officers have been deployed. It is also stated that there will not be any threat to the law and order situation and that all necessary protection and assistance would be given to the Returning Officer and others concerned to conduct the election scheduled to be held on 29.6.2014 in a peaceful manner.
The submissions of the learned Government Pleader are recorded. No further directions are called for and the Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
