This petition is based on TDB Report No.18 of 2014 dated 3.2.2014 submitted by the Hon'ble Ombudsman wherein it is stated that a news report has appeared in Jenmabhoomi daily dated 29.1.2014 to the effect that the Travancore Devaswom Board has decided to part with devaswom land in Kannankulangara Devaswom in Paravoor Group to the Tourism Department. The Hon'ble Ombudsman has reported that based on the news report he suo motu registered a complaint, got it enquired and that during the enquiry the Devaswom Officer of the Travancore Devaswom Board produced a copy of the draft agreement proposed to be entered into between the Devaswom Commissioner and the Director of Tourism with reference to the devaswom land in Kannankulangara Devaswom in Paravoor Group. A copy of the draft agreement is produced as Annexure-I along with the report. The Hon'ble Ombudsman has in his report stated that this Court may examine the question whether the proposed agreement should be allowed to be proceeded with.
2. When the petition came up for hearing today, Sri.P.Gopal, DBP No.19/2014 2 learned standing counsel appearing for the Travancore Devaswom Board submitted that the Board has at its meeting held on 20.9.2014 resolved not to enter into any agreement with the Tourism Department or any other person to part with the devaswom land in Kannankulangara Devaswom. The aforesaid submission is recorded and the petition is closed.
