JUDGMENT / ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. M..P.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 2 The husband of the 1st petitioner / son of the 2nd petitioner herein, viz., R.Ravichandran, was working as a Head Constable [Code No.34460] and he died in harness on 08.05.2015 while he was working in the office of the Joint Commissioner of Police, Madhavaram, Chennai and the petitioners claim that they are the legal heirs of the [late] Ravichandran and as such, they are entitled to all service benefits due and payable to the said deceased person and in this regard, the 1st petitioner  widow of [late] Ravichandran, also submitted a representation dated 03.09.2015 to the 1st respondent and though it was received and acknowledged, no response is forthcoming and hence, they came forward to file the present writ petition.
3 Mr.A.Thamizharasan, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in the light of the fact that there is no dispute as to the legal heirship of the petitioners, there cannot be any impediment on the part of the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the 1st petitioner's representation and prays for a positive order.
4 This Court heard the submissions of Mr.P.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 5 Though the petitioners have prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioners, permits the petitioners to submit a joint representation to the respondents 1 and 2 along with a copy of this order as well as a copy of the earlier representation dated 03.09.2015 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the respondents 1 and 2, upon receipt of the same, are directed to consider the said representation on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a further period of six weeks thereafter and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioners.
6 The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
