JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner is an assessee under the provisions of the Kerala Tax on Luxuries Act, 1976. The petitioner being aggrieved by the orders of assessment passed against him has challenged them in Exts.P3 and P3(a) Appeals. The Appeals are accompanied by Exts.P4 and P4(a) applications for stay. However, no orders have been passed either on the Appeals or the stay petitions. The petitioner complains that Revenue Recovery proceedings have been initiated as per Exts.P5 and P5(a). The petitioner seeks the issue of appropriate directions for consideration of his Appeals and stay petitions. The Government Pleader appears for the respondents. 2. Since Exts.P4 and P4(a) stay petitions are pending consideration of the first respondent, it shall be sufficient to direct the stay petitions to be considered expeditiously.
This writ petition is, therefore, disposed of directing the first 2 W.P.(C).No.31430 of 2014 respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on Exts.P4 and P4(a) applications for stay expeditiously. Until orders are passed on the stay petitions, Exts.P5 and P5(a) shall remain stayed.
