JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioners, who apprehend arrest for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323 IPC r/w 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) and 3(2)(va) of the SC/ST Act in Crime No.514 of 2016 on the file of the second respondent Police, have filed this petition seeking a direction to the learned District cum Sessions Judge (Special Judge for SC/ST Cases), Vellore District, to consider their bail applications on the same day on merits.
2. Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for the respondents.
3. Heard both sides.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned District cum Sessions Judge (Special Judge for SC/ST Cases), Vellore District is directed to accept the surrender of the petitioners and consider their bail applications on the very same day purely on the basis of merits and to pass suitable orders, in the event of the petitioners surrendering before the said court within 15 days from today and filing of petitions seeking bail.
5. This petition is ordered accordingly.
