JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner is an Association of of bus operators, who challenge the issuance of a granted permit in favour of the 2nd respondent.
2. It is trite that, as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, grant is the rule and rejection is the exception insofar as applications for regular permits are concerned. With respect to the petitioner's grievances about the timings settled to the service of the 2nd respondent, it is a matter for the rival operators to raise before the State Transport Appellate Tribunal and not for the Association of bus operators.
3. For the reason of lack of locus standi as also for reason of an alternate remedy available, the writ petition would stand dismissed.
