Petitioner applied for grant of ‘prospecting licence for exploration/extraction of the mineral-Iron ore in an extent of 121 hectares in Survey No.54 of Chandoli village, Gollapalli mandal, Karimnagar district’. The application of the petitioner was rejected by orders in Memo No. 15740/M.IV (1)/2012 Industries and Commerce (Mines-IV) Department, Government of A.P. dated 10.1.2013. Against the said order of rejection, revision would lie before the Mining Tribunal under Rule 54 of the Mineral Concession Rules, 1960 and accordingly petitioner filed a revision on 5.4.2013. The grievance of the petitioner in instituting this writ petition is that even though more than one year has lapsed, so far there is no progress in the revision petition.
2. Having regard to the fact that the revision petition filed by the petitioner is pending before the Mining Tribunal/first respondent, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of directing the Mining Tribunal to consider the revision petition submitted by the petitioner on 5.4.2013 and after affording reasonable opportunity, pass appropriate orders as warranted by law as early as possible preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. No costs. Sequel to the same, miscellaneous petitions, if any stand dismissed.
