THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION No.19105 of 2014 ORDER :
The petitioner holds passport bearing No.5396164 issued by the respondent on 30.09.2013. The petitioner avers that she was born on 09.08.1993 at Khoula Hospital, Oman. But, in the passport, her place of birth is mentioned as Hyderabad. Having noticed the wrong entry in the passport, she submitted an application to the respondent for correction of her place of birth. But the respondent refused to accept the said application and insisted her to get the orders from the competent Court. Feeling aggrieved by the inaction of the respondent in issuing a fresh passport with correct place of birth, she has filed the present writ petition.
2. Copy of application requesting for correction of place of birth is not enclosed. No evidence of filing such application. In view of the same, liberty is granted to the petitioner to apply for correction of her place of birth. As and when such an application is made, respondent authority shall consider and take a decision on the request of the petitioner for correction of her place of birth as warranted by law.
3. With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
