Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel.
This petition has been preferred for extension of the contract service of the petitioner on the post of e-District Manager.
The record reveals that by an order dated 8 August 2017, the contractual engagement of the petitioner was discontinued on the ground of unsatisfactory service. A decision to this effect was also taken on 19 February 2018 and communicated to the petitioner. The order dated 19 February 2018 was assailed by way of Writ- A No. -57341 of 2017. A learned Judge of this Court proceeded to dispose of the said petition holding that no relief can be granted to the petitioner and that it will be always open to him to file a suit for specific performance of contract. This order was subjected to challenge in an intra court appeal which was disposed of on 31 January 2018 when the Division Bench noted that since the term of the contract had come to an end no right inheres in the petitioner to seek extension. The Division Bench disposed of the appeal leaving it open for the respondents to reconsider the matter and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks.
Once the orders dated 8 August 2017 and 19 February 2018 have attained finality, this Court finds no ground to entertain the prayer as pressed on this writ petition.
Consequently the writ petition is dismissed.
