JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the respondents to conduct elections by secret ballot to Wakf Masjid E Akbar, Chennai as sought by him vide representation dated 05.12.2016.
2. According to the petitioner, he is one of the Jamathars of the Wakf Board and also a member of the Managing Committee. The respondent had directed the Superintendent of the Wakf Board as Election Officer to conduct elections and report compliance vide proceedings 20.04.2016. The Superintendent of Wakf had also initiated proceedings for voters list for conducting elections by secret ballot. However, as elections had not been conducted for the past eight months, the petitioner made a representation to the 1st respondent on 05.12.2016 to direct the Election Officer to conduct elections by secret ballot, at the earliest. Since no orders have been passed, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material documents on record.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.12.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
