This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents herein to cancel the classification of the land, in Survey No.331/6 of Kumaragiri village, Thoothukudi District, as "Assessed Waste Punja" and to re-issue patta in favour of the petitioner.
2. Mr.Pala Ramasamy, the learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents. With the consent of both parties, the writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

Though the prayer in the Writ Petition is for a larger relief, at this stage of the hearing of the Writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the third respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.09.2008, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period fixed by this Court.
4. Mr.Pala Ramasamy, the learned special Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents, did not have any objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
5. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on either side, without going into the merits of the case, the third respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.09.2008, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 12 weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of the hearing to the petitioner, as well as to the other parties concerned. The Petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the representation, dated:29.09.2008,along with a copy of this order, to the third respondent.
6. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
