The only prayer made in the instant petition is for issuance of a direction to respondent No. 1, to decide Matrimonial Petition No. 279/2015, under Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, within a time specified by this Court.
Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the opposite party to the proceeding is not appearing in order to delay the disposal of the matter. She submitted that efforts for compromise are being made.
Section 21-B of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 specifically provides that all proceedings under the Act should be held on a day to day basis and effort should be made to conclude the proceedings as far as possible within six months from the date of service of the petition on the respondent.
In view of the aforesaid provisions under the Act, I am of the opinion that no further direction is required.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
