Heard learned counsel for the parties.
By means of present writ petition, the petitioners have prayed for direction to the respondents to consider their claim for promotion on the post of Head Constable (Civil Police) within stipulated time.
Learned counsel for the petitioners states that so far as the grievance of the petitioners is concerned, they have already filed a representation dated 17.7.2019 before the respondent no.2 for redressal of their grievance, which is still pending. They have confined their prayer only to the relief that their representation dated 17.7.2019 may be considered by the appropriate authority.
Learned counsel for the respondents has no objection to the said prayer.
No useful purpose would be served in keeping the writ petition pending.
In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the issue and considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to file fresh representation along with certified copy of this order before the competent authority, which is stated to be respondent No. 2, who may consider the representation filed by the petitioners and decide the same in accordance with law, expeditiously and preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the representation.
