THIS PETITION COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING, THIS DAY THE COURT PASSED THE FOLLOWING :
ORDER Petitioner is an Educational Institution running B.Ed Course, under the provisions of the National Council of Teacher Education Act, 1993 (hereinafter referred to as ‘NCTE Act’ for the sake of brevity).
2. Petitioner has sought a direction to the respondent No.1 to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner, the details of which are at Annexure ‘L’ to the writ petition, which has been filed pursuant to liberty reserved by this Court in W.P.No.28415/2017 and connected matters disposed of on 10.07.2017.
3. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the said appeal has been filed seeking restoration of recognition which was granted earlier and for renewal of affiliation of the petitioner-Institution for the academic year 2017-2018 for B.Ed. Course being conducted by the petitioner-Institution.
4. He further submits that on account of the delay in the disposal of the appeal, the petitioner-Institution has been unable to make admissions for the current academic year.
5. Learned Counsel for first and second respondents would submit that the appeal would be disposed of in accordance with law and if a direction is to be issued by this Court, the same would be complied with.
6. In the circumstances, the first respondent-authority is directed to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner- Institution, in an expeditious manner and in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the aforesaid observations and directions, the writ petition is disposed.
