Heard learned counsel for the petitioner; learned A.G.A. for the respondents 1 and 2; and perused the record.
The instant petition seeks quashing of the first information report dated 30.11.2019 registered as Case Crime No.658 of 2019, under Sections 471, 468, 467, 420 IPC, Sections 65, 63 of Copy Right Act and Section 63, 60(1) of U.P. Excise Act, P.S. Civil Lines, District Muzaffar Nagar.
The impugned first information report relates to recovery of a large quantity of liquor in respect of which it is alleged that the same was counterfeit.
The petitioner is named in the first information report and his complicity has been disclosed by the persons who were apprehended on the spot.
In view of the above, the prayer of the petitioner to quash the first information report cannot be accepted.
The petition is dismissed without prejudice to the right of the petitioner to apply for bail or anticipatory bail, as may be advised.
