Heard learned counsel for the parties.
The present petition has been filed for the following relief:
"(a) A writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the District Magistrate Baghpat, respondent no. 2 to decide the application of the petitioner for grant of arm licence bearing file no. 80 dated 14.1.2019 within stipulated period."
It is argued that the police report as already been filed and in terms of the Rule 13 of the Arms Rules, it is incumbent that the application be decided within a period of one month.
Considering the limited submission, the District Magistrate is directed to decide the arm licence application of the petitioner expeditiously, preferably within a period of four months, from the date of production of a certificated copy of this order.
The writ petition is disposed off in terms of the order passed above.
