Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Israrullah, learned counsel representing the respondents.
With regard to correction of his date of birth in the passport, the petitioner has represented to the Regional Passport Officer at Lucknow vide request dated 7th February, 2017, which is said to be still pending without any orders. A copy of the said representation has been filed as Annexure No. 6 to the writ petition.
The limited relief pressed before us is to issue appropriate direction to the respondent no. 2 to take an appropriate decision on the pending request, within a fixed time frame.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we dispose of this petition with a direction to the Regional Passport Officer, Lucknow respondent no.2 to take appropriate decision on the pending request of the petitioner, referred to above, strictly in accordance to law, within a period of four weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
