The petitioners are involved in a forest offence registered as O.R.No.2/2012 of Kasaragod Forest Range. According to the petitioners, by virtue of Section 68 of the Forest Act, the offence is compoundable. Petitioners have approached the respondent by Ext.P3 application for compounding the offence in terms of Sec.68. 2. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the Respondent to consider and pass orders in Ext.P3 application within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
