JUDGMENT / ORDER

3. The District Collector, Dharmapuri District. .. Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS, directing the respondents to produce the body of detenu, Krishnan, aged 27 years.
For Petitioner : Mr.S.C.Vishwanth For Respondents : Mr.V.M.R.Rajentran, APP - - - - ORDER [Order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN, J. ] Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents.
2 This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the father of the detenu, stating that his son, namely, Krishnan, aged about 27 years, has been missing, from 15.6.2016. It has been stated that a complaint had been given to the respondent police with regard to the said incident. Since no effective steps had been taken, by the respondent police, for tracing the detenu, the petitioner has preferred the present Habeas Corpus Petition before this Court.
3 A detailed status report, dated 17.10.2016, had been filed before this Court, by the Inspector of Police, Papparapatti Police Station, Dharmapuri District, wherein the details, with regard to the detenu, had been given. It has been stated that the detenu had taken money from various persons, promising them to get jobs. Paragraph 4 of the status report reads as follows :
"4.It is submitted that meanwhile the petitioner lodged a complaint before the Superintendent of Police, Dharmapuri District and the same was forwarded to the Dy. Superintendent of Police, Pennagaram Sub Division, Dharmapuri for enquiry and the DSP taken up the petition enquiry on 17.06.2016 and enquired the petitioner and counter petitioner. In the enquiry, the petitioner Subramani stated that his son will be returned to native place within 1 month and after that they will settle the amount to the complainant."
4 In such circumstances, we do not find any cause or reason to issue further orders in the present Habeas Corpus Petition. Hence, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. However, the first respondent police is directed to continue with the investigation and to take necessary steps in accordance with law. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
