Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.
This application under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (in short 'Code') has been filed on behalf of the applicants with a prayer to quash the Charge Sheet No. 150 of 2016 dated 25.12.2016, arising out of Case Crime No. 152 of 2016, under Sections 498A, 328, 354, 506 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, Police Station - Mundali, District - Meerut and also to quash the cognizance order dated 19.05.2017 passed by A.C.J.M., Court No. 3, Meerut.
Supplementary affidavit has been filed by Pankaj Kumar, deponent with compromise submitted by sister of opposite party no. 2 - Rachna before Senior Superintendent of Police, Meerut with the assertion that the matter has been amicably settled between the parties through mediation.
Learned counsel for the applicants further submitted order of this Court dated 06.09.2016 in Criminal Misc. Writ Petition No. 19647 of 2016 (Nagesh Kumar and 5 others v. State of U.P. and 3 others), wherein arrest of the present applicants (petitioner nos. 2 to 6 in the writ petition) was stayed.
This is a case of matrimonial dispute, which has been amicably settled between the parties.
As per judgment of Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Social Action Forum for Manav Adhikar and another v. Union of India reported in 2018 SCC OnLine SC 1501, the proceedings of aforesaid case is quashed.
