JUDGMENT / ORDER

The prayer in this writ petition is for a writ in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to ensure timely supply and distribution of text books for which orders have been placed by the first petitioner Manager and Managers of other unaided recognized schools. The second petitioner is an association of Managers of unaided recognized schools. It is stated that though the schools reopened on June, 2013, supply of text books was completed only in November-December, 2013 thereby causing serious prejudice to the students studying in the petitioner's school. 2. When the writ petition came up for hearing today, Smt.A.Lowsy, learned Government Pleader appearing for the State of Kerala submitted on instructions that 662 schools had placed intends for supply of text books and release orders have been issued in respect of 593 schools and that during the course of another week release orders will be issued in respect of the remaining intends. The learned Government Pleader also submitted that steps will be taken to ensure that the text books are released from the concerned depots W.P.(C) No.8347/2014 2 in time. As regards the first petitioner, the learned Government Pleader submitted that the text books were issued on 27.5.2014.
Such being the situation, I am of the opinion that no orders are called for in this writ petition. It is accordingly closed recording the aforesaid submission of the learned Government Pleader.
