The petitioner is a Company. The original name of the petitioner Company is S.H.Hospital (P) Limited. This was changed as per Ext.P2. The petitioner approached the Revenue Officials to effect changes in the revenue records in accordance with the change effected in Ext.P2. The Revenue Officials objected to the same stating that there is no reference to the assets of the Company in Ext.P2. Accordingly, rejected the request in Ext.P6.
I am of the view that such objection is unsustainable. When the corporate entity changes the name that means only the name is changed. The right of the corporate entity to hold any property will not be effected by change of name. Therefore, based on the change of name effected as per Ext.P2, necessary changes shall be effected in the revenue records based on the request made by the petitioner. Accordingly, Ext.P6 is set aside.
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
