JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C.
2. Petitioners are A1, A2 and A5 in Crime No.394 of 2014 of Kolavallur Police Station registered for the offences punishable under Sections 143, 147, 148, 341, 323, 324, 307 and 506(2) read with Section 149 IPC.
3. The allegation against the petitioners and the other accused is that on 16.05.2014 at 7.15 pm, they formed themselves into an unlawful assembly armed with deadly weapons like swords and wooden logs, wrongfully restrained the defacto complainant and his friend on the road and attacked them and caused very serious injuries by cutting with swords and by beating with wooden logs thereby, attempting to commit the murder of the defacto complainant.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Public Prosecutor, and perused the CD.
5. The contents of the CD prima facie reveal the complicity of the petitioners. True that the motive alleged is political enmity. When the rival political parties settle scores each other on the road in public, the law and order situation as such becomes a casualty. The investigation has a long way to go. Weapons are to be recovered. Considering the present stage of the investigation and the seriousness of the allegations against the petitioners, I am satisfied that they are not entitled to the discretionary relief of anticipatory bail.
In the result, this bail application is dismissed.
