This Writ Petition has been filed praying for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's house situated at Door No.52, Palayam Bazaar, Woraiyur, Trichy.
2. The petitioner has stated that he is a tenant in the property in question. He had made an application, dated 17.7.2009, to the first respondent, requesting for electricity service connection to his house in the said property.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the second respondent had stated that the second respondent is the landlord, in respect of the property in question and therefore, he is not in favour of electricity service connection being given to the property in question.

However, in view of the fact that the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner had submitted that the petitioner requires only temporary electricity service connection, in accordance with Rule 27 of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution code, 2004, this Court finds it appropriate to direct the first respondent to grant temporary electricity service connection, as prayed for by the petitioner, subject to the petitioner's fulfilling the requirements of the first respondent. The petitioner is permitted to make a fresh application to the first respondent, within 10 days from today and on such application being submitted, the first respondent is directed to grant temporary electricity service connection to the property in question, within four weeks, thereafter. However, it is made clear that the grant of temporary electricity service connection to the petitioner will not create any additional rights or interests in the property in question.
5. With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. Connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
