JUDGMENT / ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to perform de-silt work in Uthankudi Kanmoi which situates in Survey No.7/1B, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus.
2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has contended to the effect that Uthankudi Kanmoi which situates in Survey No.7/1B is the only main source of water to the people who are living in and around Uthankudi, but the authorities have not done any de-silting work and under the said circumstances a representation has been given and the same has not been considered and therefore the present writ petition has been filed.
3.Considering the nature of the relief sought in the writ petition, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.
4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed without costs and the third respondent is viz., Chief Engineer, PWD ? Water Resources Organisation, Tallakulam, Madurai ? 2 is strictly directed to de-silt Uthankudi Kanmoi which situates in Survey No.7/1B within a period of two months. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
