THIS WRIT PETITION COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING THIS DAY, THE COURT MADE THE FOLLOWING:
ORDER The petitioner filed the present writ petition for writ of mandamus directing respondent No.1-State of Karnataka to constitute a special committee comprising of eminent people not belonging to any Political Parties for the purpose of screening the names of applicants for the State of Karnataka Rajyothasava Awards.
2. Sri.Vijayakumar A.Patil, learned AGA for respondent No.1 on taking notice for respondent No.1, filed a memo stating that the State Government has already constituted a committee on 01.10.2019. Therefore, he submits that the prayer sought for would not survive for consideration.
3. Memo is placed on record.
Accordingly, writ petition is disposed off with liberty to the petitioner to approach the committee or authority for appropriate relief in accordance with law.
