RAVI, ADVOCATE FOR R2) THIS WRIT PETITION IS FILED UNDER ARTICLES 226 & 227 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA, PRAYING TO DIRECT THE R-1 TO CONSIDER THE REPRESENTATION OF THE PETITIONER DTD.28.4.2017 VIDE ANNEX-E1 AND DIRECT THE R-1 TO CONSTITUTE AN INDEPENDENT COMMITTEE FOR THE PURPOSE OF LOOKING INTO THE ASPECT OF MISMANGEMENT OF WATER IN THE ALMATTI RESERVOIR AND TO SUGGEST REMEDIAL MEASURES TO BE INCORPORATED IN FUTURE.
THIS WRIT PETITION COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING IN ‘B’ GROUP THIS DAY, THE P.S.DINESH KUMAR J., MADE THE FOLLOWING:-
O R D E R Petitioner has filed this petition in public interest seeking a direction to the State government to consider his representation dated 28.04.2017 wherein he has requested for establishment of a Committee to monitor water utilisation in Upper Krishna Project.
2. Shri D.Nagaraj, learned Additional Government Advocate submits that the Government has constituted an Irrigation Consultative Committee on 14.07.2016 to supervise and take decisions with regard to proper utilization of water. Adverting to Annexure-B, he submits that a meeting of the committee was held on 28.10.2016 and a resolution has been passed for proper utilisation of water in the Almatti reservoir. He submits that the aforementioned Committee shall strictly follow the resolution passed in the aforesaid meeting.
3. His submission is placed on record. In view of above, the petition is rendered unnecessary and it is accordingly disposed of.
No costs.
