Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the case of the petitioner is a couples' case. The petitioner was promoted to the post of Headmistress. She so as to be posted in Lucknow gave in writing to the respondents that she does not want to be promoted and forgoes the promotion. Under the circumstances, the respondents are required to allow the petitioner a place of posting of her choice under Rule 8(2)(d) of the U.P. Basic Education (Teachers) (Posting) Rules 2008, as amended in 2010.
