Public Prosecutor ORDER The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.1.2017 in accordance with law and grant police protection to his life from the assaultants J.Krishnamurthy, Padmavathy, Prabhu and Satya and their henchmen to secure the ends of justice.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that he married one Satya on 10.9.2010 and a child was born to them. After marriage, his father in law – J.Krishnamurthy, mother in law – Padmavathi and his brother in law – Prabhu continued to torture him and there were several instances, wherein the petitioner was abducted and tortured and his hip was also broken. During May 2015, the petitioner was mercilessly beaten and he was kept in confinement without providing medical aid. Further, they intimidated him that they would kill him. In this regard, he submitted a representation dated 21.1.2017 to the respondent police seeking police protection. Since the same was not considered so far, left with no other alternative, the petitioner has come up with the present petition.
3. I have heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.
4. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.1.2017 and pass appropriate orders/or take action on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner. The criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
