JUDGMENT / ORDER

Mr.Era Premnath, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2. By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioners have filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to dispose of the Appeal dated 21.08.2017 filed by them, within a time frame.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners' appeal dated 21.08.2017 has not yet been disposed of by the 1st respondent so far.
4. Mr.Era Premnath, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 t & 2 submitted that the 1st respondent may be directed to dispose of the appeal, within a period of eight weeks.
5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 21.08.2017 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
