JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petition filed under Section 439(1) Cr.P.C.
2. Petitioner is the first accused in S.C. No. 1523/2013 on the file of Additional Sessions Court, Thiruvananthapuram which has been registered for several offences, one of which is punishable under Section 302 of IPC. His earlier application was dismissed by this Court about three months ago with a direction to dispose of the case expeditiously. The submission is that the trial has not yet started.
3. Heard both sides.
4. The petitioner had been absconding for more than one decade. He is involved in seven other cases. He had been detained under the KAPA Act. The mere fact that the trial could not so far be started is not a ground to grant him bail. If he is released on bail there is every likelihood of his absconding again. So I am not inclined to grant him bail.
In the result, this application is dismissed.
K.ABRAHAM MATHEW, JUDGE.
