Undisputedly, the petitioner did not appear for document verification on the date fixed for the same by the respondents. However, the Court notes that in terms of clause 9 of the call letter, an opportunity was granted to candidates who could not participate in the document verification exercise for reasons beyond their control. According to the petitioner, he could not appear for verification of his testimonials since he was hospitalised.
Learned Standing Counsel states that the respondents have put in place an adequate grievance redressal mechanism as envisaged in clause 9 of the call letter and in case the petitioner were to represent the competent committee in this respect, the same shall be duly considered and disposed of in accordance with law.
Accordingly this petition shall stand disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach the Committee as envisaged under clause 9 of the call letter within a period of two weeks from today. In case such a representation is made, the same shall be duly considered and disposed of by the concerned Committee in accordance with law and preferably within a period of one month from the date of presentation of such a representation.
It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated upon the merits of the claim of the petitioner.
